Energy Adds Kylie, Ciara

Today, Energy 92.7 has added Kylie Minogue's "I Believe in You" (album version) and Ciara's "1, 2 Step" (remix) into regular rotation. Both had previously been given significant mix show exposure and (in my opinion) make Energy sound all the more fresh and exciting.

Unfortunately, because Energy still seems fearful that too much current music will turn off new listeners, sacrifices were made to accomodate the two new songs - in the form of Alicia Keys' "Diary" and Tiesto's "Traffic," which appear to have been banished to DejaVuLand. DejaVuLand is named after its first victim, "Deja Vu" by Roc Project, which received healthy spins in medium rotation for several weeks before disappearing suddenly and completely off the airwaves, never to be heard from again (expect for a brief snippet during Energy's 2004 year-end mix).

Truthfully, I won't miss "Traffic" all that much, which never really grew on me, but losing "Diary" is a shame. This was my favorite Hani remix since he did wonders with Amber's "One More Night," and I have yet to find any website where this great Alicia Keys mix is available for purchase or download.
